Jeanie Marie Crews, 19, of the Raybon community, died Tuesday (Nov. 23, 2004) morning in Nahunta.

A native of Waycross, she was the daughter of Stacy and Tammy Crews and attended the community church in Raybon.

She was a graduate of the 2003 class of Brantley County High School where she was active in the FFA. She had won numerous awards in Agricultural Proficiency and for 2002-2003 won Outstanding Swine Showman. She found great joy in her friends and family, and was always ready with a smile for whom ever she met.

Her maternal grandparents, Wannis Cleland and Jean Carol Strickland, and her paternal grandfather, Joe Terrell Crews, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Lonni Shea (David) of Palm Coast, Fla. and Helen Crews of Nahunta; one brother, Lee Crews (Tiffany) of Nahunta; her paternal grandmother, Elma Crews of Nahunta; and her boyfriend Ashton Chesser of Nahunta.

A funeral for Jeanie will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Nahunta First Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Jacobs and Rev. Leon Wilson officiating.

Burial will follow in the family plot in Oak Grove cemetery. Serving as casket bearers are William Dart, Ira Crawford, Jeremy Swain, Eric Nettles, Steven Gibson, Landon Hickox and Jamie Crews.
