Nettie Edna Thompson, 6, of Salmon passed away 13 February 2008 at St. Patricks Hospital in Missoula, Montana. She was born 3 June 1931 to Clara and Unie Dugger in Five Points section of Dayton, Tennessee, the fifth of eight children, five girls and three boys. She lived in Tennessee until the age of four, when her father moved the family to Ohio to work on the railroad, where her mother also eventually worked. It was a hard life but between the two jobs and her parents' blue ribbon flower, vegetable and fruit gardens, the family was able to eat pretty well. She met Carlos Adelbert Ruffner in Ohio when she was very young and remet him at the age of 16. They were married 7 August 1948 and went on to have four children, Carol Ann, Catherine Adele, Carlos Adelbert Jr. and Cynthia Arlene. She was a member of the Baptist Church, War Mothers (Angel) and many bible study groups. She loved life, church, family and friends and lived her life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mildred, Dorothy, Julie and June; brothers, Sonny and Bud. She is survived by a brother, Mike; children, Carol Ann and Louie Hernandez with daughter, Stephanie; Cathie (Bruce) Bolander with sons, Rusty, Edward, Gary, Jeremy and daughter, Jennifer; Carlos (Debbie) Ruffner and stepson, Randy; Cindy (Dan) Jones with daughters, Shabraan and Kareene. She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 19 February 2008 at the Salmon Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Palmer offficiating. Burial was in the Salmon Cemetery under the direction of the Salmon River Funeral Chapel.
