MARRIED: Jane Stucki (deceased)
DATE:
PLACE: Liberty (Solemnized in 1950 in the Logan Temple.)
Initially, Sharp worked for the creamery and the newlyweds raised cows. But when the creamery closed, Sharp went to work at Monsanto and they traded the cows for purebred Suffolk sheep which they also raised. He and Jane also spent many years traveling the country with their sheep and, as they did, their circle of friends expanded.
CHILDREN (6 + 2): David (Maxine) Matthews, of Paris; Jeanna Matthews, of Paris; Howard Matthews (deceased); Kenneth Matthews (deceased); Marge (Gene) Knutti, of Montpelier, Idaho; McKay (Adele) Matthews, of Orem, Utah; and Shauna Matthews, of Blackfoot, Idaho; also, daughter-in-law, Glenda Matthews, of Idaho Falls, Idaho and foster daughter, Avalon Beaks-Knight, of Newtown, North Dakota; along with twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren pending
Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sharp had many opportunities to serve. He had been in the Bishopric, on the Stake High Council, and had been a Ward Financial Clerk, a Home Teacher, a Missionary, and a Temple Worker. In retirement, Sharp and Jane served a mission to the Chicago Temple and, later, served several years as officiators in the Logan Temple.
Probably the greatest joy in Sharp's life was his family. Whether it was a child, grandchild or great-grandchild, he would try to attend as many of their events as he could--especially the sports. He loved to hold the babies and everyone made it a point to bring them to see Grandpa.
