The Chico Enterprise-Record (Chico, California) 19 Jun 1975, Thursday Page 5: Juanita H. Thomas. GRIDLEY (E-R) – Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Block Funeral Home here for Juanita Hazel Thomas, 65, of 1009 West Drive.
She died Wednesday morning at a local hospital where she had been a patient since June 1.
The daughter of George and Clara (Griffin) Moss was born Dec. 5, 1909, in Davis, Okla. In 1940 she came to Gridley from the Imperial Valley and resided in Gridley since.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Women of the Moose of Gridley and the Royal Neighbors of America of Gridley. She had been employed as a cannery worker by Libby, McNeil and Libby Cannery. In addition, she worked as an agent for the Sacramento Bee in the Gridley area for 17 years, retiring in 1970.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband, Glenn, of Gridley, three sons, Ted of Gridley, Jerry of Yuba City, and Jim of Chico; two sisters, Thelma Ward and Margaret Smithly, both of Oklahoma City, Okla; two brothers, Faye and Elmer Moss, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Directing Friday’s services will be the Gridley Church of the Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow the services in the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.
