Blacksburg , S.C. - Alie Virginia Putnam Andrews, 97, formerly of Holly Ridge Road, Blacksburg, passed away Tuesday, November 13th, 2012 at Hospice of Cleveland County at Wendover in Shelby, N.C.

Born in Blacksburg, Mrs. Andrews was the widow of the late Horace Quince Andrews and the daughter of the late Thomas Lee Putnam, Sr. and Sudie Foster Putnam.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church .

Mrs. Andrews is survived by one son, Ronald Andrews of Blacksburg; two daughters, Carolyn A. Grigg of Clover, S.C. and Sandra A. Cartee of Shelby, N.C.; one brother, Walter Eugene Putnam of Grover, NC; two sisters, Janelle P. Diffenderfer of Blacksburg and Catherine P. Hardin of Lincolnton, N.C.; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Andrews; brothers, Bill Putnam and Lee Putnam; and sisters, Elsie Ross and Flora Martin.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 16th, 2012 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Mount Paran Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Paran Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Clever officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Paran Baptist Church, 105 Mt. Paran Road, Blacksburg, S.C. 29702 or Hospice of Cleveland County at Wendover, 953 Wendover Heights, Shelby, N.C. 28150 .
