He was the son of Pierre Thomas and Harriet B. Brainard and step-brother to Augustus Thomas, # 90705094.

In 1880, his mother was living with the family in Kentucky. Most records indicate she was (b) abt 1810 in Connecticut.

He married Mary E. Cook on Jun 27, 1870 in Jefferson Co, Kentucky. Their only child found to date was Mollie (b)1873 in Kentucky. Unknown if she married or died before 1900.

He fought in the Civil War in Company A, 35th Infantry Regiment Illinois. He died from pneumonia.
