Obit info provided by L Bruns: M.U. "Shag" Hampton, 79 of Fort Smith died Friday, March 24, 1995 in a local hospital. He was a retired engineer for Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a Baptist, he also worked for the Civilian Conversation Corps (CCC) during the 1930's. He is survived by his wife Pauline; a son , Scott, a sister; Madge & a granddaughter. Funeral services were held at Putman Funeral Home with burial at Mountainview Cemetery in Hackett
