FUNERAL OF MRS. STEVENS: Utica, O., April 14, 1909 ---The funeral of Mrs. Julia Stevens, who died on Monday, April 2, was held at the Methodist Church this place, on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. The services were conducted by the Rev. R. C. Beechley; and the remains were laid to rest in the North cemetery beside those of her husband, who departed this life years ago. Mrs. Stevens was one of the pioneer women of Licking county. The following children survive; President George W. Stevens of the Chesapeake & Ohio railway; Mrs. C. A. Berit, Mrs. R. B. Aladorf, of Utica; and Mrs. O. C. Mehurin, of Staunton, Va. Besides these; fourteen grandsons, four granddaughters and one great granddaughter survive. Mrs. Stevens had been in poor health for some time, and on Friday, March 26, celebrated the 89th anniversary of her birth, her son, George W. Stevens being present at the celebration. That was the last time he ever saw her alive, as he as unable to reach her bedside before she breathed her last.
