Brielle resident Nicholas J. McCoy Jr. died Monday, Jan. 12 at Sunnyside Manor, Wall.

He was 77 years old.

Mr. McCoy was an electrician with IBEW local 164 in Paramus until his retirement in 1994. He was a US Army Veteran during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3231 and the Manasquan Elks No. 2534. He was an usher and a member of the St. Denis RC Church in Manasquan. Born in New York City, N.Y., he was raised in Queens, N.Y. and lived in Newark and Colonia before moving to Brielle 13 years ago.

Surviving is his loving wife Jeanne B. [Nugent] of 50 years, son Nicholas J. III of South Amboy, daughters Kathleen Henry and her husband Jeffrey of Roselle Park, Patricia Yelenscics and her husband John of Edison, and Jeanne Leonardis and her husband Sal of Beach Haven. He also leaves sisters Alice Perry of Spring Lake Heights, Betsey Geiger of West Orange, Patricia Moore of Houston, Texas, and 10 grandchildren: Jennifer, Sal, Nicholas IV, Ian, Matthew, Kelsey, Ryan, Elizabeth, Molly and Riley.

Visiting will be on Friday, Jan. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Route 35, Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Margaret's RC Church in Spring Lake. Entombment will be at St. Catharine Cemetery in Wall. Donations may be made in his name to Little Hill Alina Lodge, Box G, Blairstown 07825.
