Lindley's middle name is spelled Guerin, after his grandfather, but unfortunately was misspelled on his grave maker as Gueren.

Lindley G. Cook, 93, relative of Cook College's founder

CHESTER – Lindley G. Cook of Wheeler Road, a relative to the founder of Cook College at Rutgers University, died Thursday at his home after a long illness. He was 93.
He was born in Madison and lived in Hackettstown before moving to Chester in 1941. He was a retired salesman for J.C. Snavely and Sons Inc., Lebanon, Pa.
His wife Natalie died in 1981.
He was a graduate of Rutgers University, and was second cousin to George Hammel Cook, founder of Cook College at Rutgers.
From 1945-58, he was associate director for the New Jersey Cooperative Extension Service in Agriculture and Home Economics for the College of Agriculture at Rutgers.
From 1940-45, he served as extension specialist in conservation for the College of Agriculture at Rutgers.
From 1935-40, he was a conservationist for the Soil Conservation Service in the United States Department of Agriculture.
Cook was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Chester.
He was life member of Hackettstown Kiwanis Club, and served as governor for the New Jersey District of Kiwanis International.
Surviving are a niece and a nephew.
Services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Community Presbyterian Church in Chester. Burial will follow in Hanover Cemetery in East Hanover,
Arrangements are being handled by Cochran Funeral home, 905 High St., Hackettstown.
