Orris Monroe Wright was the son of William Markwell Wright (1876-1957) and Louisa Elizabeth Foss Wright.
He was the grandson of John H.P. Foss (1839-1921) and Nancy Fite Foss (1842-1909) of Lawrence County, Illinois, previously of Ripley County, Indiana.
He was the great-grandson of Josephus Fite (1818-1872) and Malinda Martin Fite (1821-1886) of Ripley County, Indiana.
He was the great-great-grandson of James Martin and Nancy Martin of Ripley County, Indiana.

Orris M. Wright, 77, of Sumner, died about midnight Wednesday at his home.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Sivert Funeral Home in Sumner, and will be announced later.
Mr. Wright was born Jan. 31, 1900 in Lukin Township of Lawrence County, Illinois to Dr. William Markwell Wright and Louisa Elizabeth Foss Wright.
He was a teacher for 25 years before retirement, president of the Retired Teachers Association of Lawrence County, a member of the United Church of Christ in Sumner and a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of the Sumner Kiwanis Club, and was a former president and secretary of the club.
Mr. Wright was owner of the Wright Insurance Agency in Sumner. He had been an insurance agent for almost 50 years.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Bernice Cullison Wright and several nieces and nephews.
