Mrs. Verdie U. Pickett, widow of the late Gene Pickett, died Friday, January 19, 1945, at the home of her daughter, Mrs William Hooper, near Taylorsville. She was a daughter of the late George W. and Catherine Harn and was aged 74 years. She leaves the following children: Roy, Mrs. William Hooper, Mrs. Burgess Condon, and Emory, all of Taylorsville; Ernie, Mt. Olive; and Mrs. Zoland Eyler. Flohrville; also two sisters Mrs. Fred Sheller. Baltimore,
and Mrs Peter Laughman. Westminster; and brother Dalton Harn, Baltimore. Services were conducted Monday, meeting at the late residence at 1.30 P. M. with further rites at 2 P M in the Taylorsville church and burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. E. K. Sawyers officiated. C. M. Waltz,
