Burial followed in the Hurricane Grover cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral home of Jonesboro.
Mr. Thomas was a retired timberman.
He is survived by two sons, Fred and Troy Thomas, both of Monroe.

His birth year is inscribed as 1876 on his headstone, which is inconsistent with census records & his obituary. The 1900 census gives JUL 1884 which is consistent with his reported age in the 1930 census. His WWI draft card gives it as shown above.
