Rex Ward Weaver, 83, of Soda Springs, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Caribou Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 12, 1925 at Conda, Idaho the son of Ural David and Ella Jackson Weaver. He was raised and educated in Soda Springs.

Rex married Jane Marie Field, February 16, 1947 at Soda Springs. The marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple on February 18, 1966. Jane passed away May 1, 2008.

He served in the U S Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Soda Springs American Legion Post. He had worked at Conda Mine and retired from Monsanto.

Rex was a High priest in the Soda Springs LDS 8th Ward. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and his grandchildren.

Survivors include 2 sons and 1 daughter and their spouses; Allen and Cindy Weaver, Pocatello, ID; Larry D and Wendy Weaver, Soda Springs, ID and Bonnie Marie Harris, Idaho Falls, ID; also11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son Robert David Weaver, a grandson Robert Weaver, a son-in-law, Jack Harris, sisters; Ruby Spruill, Helen Fagan and a brother Clyde Weaver.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 14th at Noon at the Hooper LDS Chapel with Bishop Alan Skinner officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday evening at the Sims Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the chapel from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
