Sarah Gladys Springer

Sarah Gladys Springer, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at the Floy Dyer Manor Nursing Home in Houston. She was born March 29, 1919, in Webster County to George Freeman Butler and Sarah Ann Todd Butler. She was a graduate of Wood College. She was a retired store owner in the Clarkson community after 25 years and a member of Clarkson Baptist Church. She was the widow of Avery Martin Springer.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Houston with Bro. Carl Morris and Bro. Jeff Gilder officiating. Burial will be in Clarkson Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Parker of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Vicci Bondanza and her husband, Jim, of La Vergne, Tenn.; three sons, Barry Springer and his wife, Julie, of Houston, Avery Martin Springer Jr. and his wife, Cecelia, of Brandon, Fla., and David F. Springer and his wife, Glenda, of Tupelo; one brother, W. Chester Butler, and his wife, Velma, of Eupora; 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Taft Butler, Buford Butler, Freeman Butler and Cleo Butler; and two sisters, Eura Cash and Erah Hill.

Pallbearers will be James Palmer, N.N. Perkins, James McGee, Elliot Butler, Albert Earnest and Roy Hill.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
