Ivis Bost
Ivis Bost, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, in The McDowell Hospital.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 at 3 p.m. in the Westmoreland Chapel. Dr. Larry Greg and The Rev. Jerry Allen officiating.
Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest C. Bost and Carrie W. Bost; three sisters, Katheryne Bost Watkins, Mabel Bost Carson, Pearl Bost Hicks; four brothers, Mack Bost, Con Bost, Charles Bost and Buddy Bost.
Survivors are three sisters, Hazel Bost Poteat, Dorothy Bost Packett and Joyce Bost Hogan, all of Marion.
The youngest of her family, Ivis enjoyed sports and family gatherings of fellowship, singing, and music making, a lifelong tradition of her family. She was receptionist for optometrist Dr. James Johnson of Marion. A dedicated and faithful member of the Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church, a member of the Sanctuary Chair, W.M.U. Sunday School, and other programs of the church. She corresponded with several missionaries and college students of the church and community. A people-loving person of all ages, compassionate, kind, who never spoke ill of anyone. A beautiful Christian, unique and special, who will always be remembered by her family and friends. A number of nieces and nephews are left to cherish her memory.
