Thomas grew up in Dallas County, Missouri. He first married Amanda Isabelle Arnold in 1883 in Dallas county. They had two children: Ethel who died as an infant in 1885 and Leona, born in 1886, who married Lee H. Shrum. Amanda died December 25, 1886 and is buried at the Louisburg Cemetery in Louisburg, Missouri.

Thomas married Elizabeth Jane Shaw in 1892. They had the following children: Walter R, George W, Florence D, Orville, Fay E, Roland, Parrie and Hazel F.

BOTTOM--At his home on what is known as the McKelvie place, a half mile from Niwot, Wednesday, May 10, 1922, Thomas Lawson Bottom, aged 67 years, 8 months and 27 days.

Mr. Bottom took his own life, ill health prompting the deed.

He leaves a wife and ten children; Mrs. Leona Shrum of Luske, Wyo.; Ray Bottom, Rock River, Wyo.; Mrs. H. R. Luck, of Laramie, Wyo.; Orville Bottom, also of Laramie; Mrs. F. J. Myers of Boulder; and George, Rawlin, Parrie and Hazel, who live at home.

Funeral services will be held at Shaw's parlors Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. D. Waller.
