Ritson was the fourth of nine children born to Hazzard and Luella (Gray) Beene. He married Rose Lee Swint in 1908 and they had three children: Eva Jeanne, Doyce Wilma and Obed Eleanor.

Funeral Services
For R. T. Beene Held
Monday Morning

Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning in Harris-Horn Funeral Chapel for R. Thomas Beene, 70, who died at his home, R-1, Allen, Saturday. He was born April 11, 1888 in Magnolia, Ark., but had lived in Texas 62 years and in Allen 33 years, being a member of the Baptist Church and Woodman of the World. Ministers conducting the service were Rev. Milton Greer of Dallas; Rev. Leon Chumbley of Allen and Rev. Huber Drumwright of Fort Worth. His parents were Hazard Beene and Louella Gray Beene.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. R. T. Beene of Allen; three daughters, Mrs. Jeanne Cook of Garland, Mrs. Doyce Weaver of Cedartown, Ga., Mrs. Obed Richardson of Allen; three brothers, A. A. Beene of El Paso; J. M Beene of Las Cruses, New Mexico and M. C. Beene of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a sister, Mrs. Van B. Hill of Dallas and five grandchildren.
Interment was in Restland Memorial park, Dallas.
Pallbearers: Luther Bolin, Albert Bolin, Lester Belew, S. O. Barnett, Furman Hefner, Johnny Miller, Lynn Walker and Cecil Richards.
