19 November 1943 : B1742-31123 took off on mission to Germany. When it failed to gain flying speed and was banking to turn, it stalled and crashed at Redlingfield, Suffolk. All 10 men on board killed.

Earlier Shot down 20 October 1943 in B-17 42-30114. Plane ditched in North Sea. Returned to base.

The Miller-Strawn VFW Post 9363 that is located in Flat Rock, Michigan was named in honor of his service and sacrifice on June 1, 1947.
