Alfred F. Kimball, 82, of Monroeville, Ohio died Saturday afternoon, January, 10, 2009 in the Willows at Bellevue Hospital, Bellevue, Ohio. He was born July 20, 1926 in Novelty, Ohio to the late John and Jessica (Jones) Kimball and was a lifelong area resident. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in W.W. II and retired in 1990 from Armstrong Air in Bellevue, Ohio with 28 years of service. He was a life member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Norwalk, Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk, Moose Lodge #1248, Norwalk and American Legion Post #547 Monroeville, Ohio. Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and antique tractor shows. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dolores (Barman) Kimball of Monroeville and by his children and their spouses, John Kimball of Sandusky, Ohio, Jim and Nan Kimball of Bellevue, Ohio, Jerry and Peggy Kimball of West Salem, Ohio, Mary and Allen Steele of Norwalk, Jeff and Becky Kimball of Monroeville, Ohio, Barb Roberts of New Washington, Ohio, Jay and Pamela Kimball of Collins, Ohio and Theresa and Mark Hoffman of North Fairfield, Ohio. 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother and sister in law, Richard and Nancy Nichols of Cherokee, North Carolina. Al was preceded in death by his first born, infant daughter, Linda Kimball in 1957, by his twin sons, Jack and Joe Kimball who died together in 1977 and by his grand daughter, Jenny Steele in 1999. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Kenneth Lill, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville will officiate. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
