Mr. Kenneth Lee Bonner, age 83, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Bagby officiating.

Burial will be in the Palava Cemetery with the Nolan County Honor Guard under the care and direction of Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home of Sweetwater.

Mr. Bonner was born on September 15, 1925, in Palava, Texas. He married Dorothy Louise Yoakum on June 25, 1946 in Sweetwater, Texas.

He was a United States Army Veteran having served in World War II. While serving in the infantry, he was awarded the Purple Heart. He also owned and operated Ken's Grocery on Lamar Street before retiring.

Survivors include: his wife, Louise Bonner of Sweetwater, Texas; one son, Kenny Bonner and wife, Norma, of Sweetwater, Texas; two grandchildren, Jason Bonner of Snyder, Texas and Lindsay Ashford of Abilene, Texas; one great-grandson, Jaxon Ashford of Abilene, TX: and one sister, Gloria Castro and husband, Frank, of Honolulu, Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Beulah Bonner.

Pallbearers will be Robert Bredemeyer, Brent Howard, Jack Howard, Carroll Kearney, Jimmy McMillan, and Stan Johnson.

Honorary pallbearer will be John Kirgan.
