Nettie M. Grote, 94, Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at the Morning Breeze in Greensburg.
Born, February 10, 1914 in Rushville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Melvin and Lucinda (Couch) Cox.
Nettie was a member of the St. Mary's Church in Greensburg and was a former prayer group and bible study leader at the church. She was a graduate of Clarksburg High School.
She was married to Joseph B. Grote on September 5, 1936 and he preceded her in death on September 1, 1992.
She is survived by one son, Philip (Tula) Grote, Russell Spring, KY; one daughter-in-law, Charlotte Grote, Newman, GA; two sisters, Imogene (Jay) Henry, Greensburg, Mary Lou (Harold) Woodard, Greensburg; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Timothy Grote; one grandson, Monte Joseph Grote; four brothers, Willard, Hubert, Harold and Melvin Cox; one sister, Jannivee (Clarence) Musser.
Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating.
Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
