Wilbur Ardell McCleerey, only son of Dorothy Wright McCleerey and Claude C. McCleerey, was born at Correctionville December 11, 1918, and passed away May 11, 1970, at his residence in Paullina following a heart attack.

He received his education in the Correctionville and Cushing schools.

On March 5, 1941, he was united in marriage to Eileen Fullerton in Sioux City and to this union one daughter, Beverly, was born.

They lived in the Correctionville area until moving to Paullina in 1952, where he was employed as a mechanic for the International Harvester Co.

Mr. McCleerey was a member of the United Methodist church and the volunteer fire department at Paullina.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 1970, at the United Methodist church in Paullina with Rev. Vernon Sorensen officiating.

Burial was in the Correctionville Cemetery under direction of Gaudian Funeral Home of Paullina.

Survivors include the widow, Eileen, a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Beverly) Jipp of Denison, his mother, Dorothy McCleerey of Correctionville, four sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Wilma) Bowers of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Mrs. Wendell (Frances) Green of Aurora, Illinois, Mrs. Edward (Betty) Bottjen and Mrs. Eugene (Claudia) Schulke, both of Correctionville.

His father, Claude, preceded him in death in 1962.
