S/o Capt. Daniel F. Harding and his first wife Lucy (last name unknown). Adelbert was living with James Byard and his wife, Lydia (Roberts) when the 1850 and 1860 censuses were taken in Sedgwick, Maine. Adelbert's mother Lucy died in Sedgwick in 1846 and Capt. Daniel Harding re-married Elsie Roberts in Sedgwick in about 1847. They had two sons and three daughters and Capt. Harding died in 1859. Elsie's second husband was James Lymburner Douglass in Sedgwick and James filed for a pension (as guardian) in 1866 after Adelbert's death. I see there's a headstone for someone named Albert Harding with the same death date as Adelbert and I fear that the headstone engraver heard the name Adelbert, thinking it was Albert and then engraving it on the headstone. Maybe.
