RAWLINGS-Oliver S. "Slim" Campbell, 88 of 20306 McMullen Highway, S. W..Rawlings, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 25, 1996, at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 23, 1908, at New Enterprise. Pa., he was a son of the late George and Blanche ( Diehl) Campbell. He also was preceded in death by his wjfe, Mary Susan (Cook) Campbell, on July 24. 1971; three sons, Ivan Campbell, Arnold Kile and Leo Kile; two brothers, Earl and Donald Campbell; and one sister, Anna Creps.
Mr. Campbell was a retired trackman with the Western Maryland Railroad, and was a member of the Danville Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Walker and husband John, and Norma Psimer and husband Fred, all of Rawlings; one son, Vernon Campbell and wife Betty, Hagerstown; four half-sisters, Elizabeth Abbott, Santa Rosa, Calif., Virginia Sodergren and Martha Campbell, both of Portland, Ore., and Alma Wilson, Rocky Ford, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, W. Va., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Danville Church of the Brethren on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Nealis, the Rev. Louise Nealis and the Rev. John Walker officiating.
The body will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Waxler Cemetery, Rawlings.
