nie Bright, 86, 7405 Woodrow
Drive, died Sept. 11, 1996, from
injuries suffered in an automobile
accident.
He was born July 24, 1910, in
Fortville and lived in Pendleton
since 1941. He retired in 1973
after 32 years of service to the
local business community. He
owned and operated Bright I.G.A.
Super Market for five years, selling
it to Marsh Supermarket. He then
owned the F. Cornell Bright Funeral
Home until he retired in 1973. He was
a graduate of Fortville High School
and Indiana College of Mortuary
Science, Indianapolis. He also at-
tended the National Foundation
School of Mortuary Science in Evanston, III.
He was past president of Madison
County Funeral Directors Associa-
tion and Pendleton Business Mens
Association. He was a member of
First United Methodist Church,
Pendleton Lions Club, Madison
Masonic Lodge 44 F. & A.M. of
Pendleton, Scottish Rite Valley of
Indianapolis and Murat Shrine Tem
ple, Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi
Bright, whom he married July 6,
1991; two daughters, Rosalyn Dowl
ing of Columbus, Ohio, and Nancy
Day of Indianapolis; stepdaughter,
Rebecca Wickersham of Pendleton;
three stepsons and spouse, David
Wickersham of Roanoke, Va., Don
ald Wickersham of Arlington, Va.,
and Douglas and Jacque Wicker
sham of Chesterton; four grandchild
dren and spouses, Jeff and Sharon
Wilde, Sheila and Brian Simmer-
man, Mark Dowling, and Mike and
Terry Dowling; nine stepgrandchildren

He was preceded in death by his
first wife of 53 years, Edna Susie
Bright, in 1989; his parents, Joseph
and Josephine Bright; and brother,
J.C. Bright.
Sen/ices will be 10 a.m. today at
Wilson St. Pierre Bright Chapel,
Pendleton, with the Rev. Rick Taylor
officiating. Burial will be in Grove
Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
