Robert Wilson Lansden was born in Wilson County, Tennessee the son of Robert Thomas and Susannah (Bone) Lansden. In 1833 he married Mary Marshall, the younger sister of his older brother Hugh Bone Lansden's wife Ann (Marshall) Lansden. Robert and Mary (Marshall) Lansden were blessed with eight (8) children.
