Obituary: Greenville Daily News--Sept. 5, 1961
Lafe Lumbert, 82, retired foundry worker, died Saturday at this home,
1249 Bracey Ave. A resident of Greenville for 55 years, Mr. Lumbert was
born in Joplin, MO., Feb 9, 1879. His parents were Hiram and Mary Lumbert.
He is survived by his wife, Louise, and four daughters, Mrs. Goldie De Vister
(correction Visser) of Lansing, Darlene of Caro, Phoebe of Chicago, and Louise of
Indian. Also surviving are four sons, Floyd of Muskegon, Edward of Lansing, Ernest of Greenville, and Raymond of Pewamo. There are 24 grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Hoffman-White Funeral Home. Elder George Tucker will officate. Burial will be in
Hillcrest Cemetery, Six Lakes.
