Hattie was born Sept. 26, 1896 in Naper, Nebraska. She was the oldest child (out of sixteen) of John and Matilda (Hildebrandt) Stahlecker.

She married Reinhold Mayer on Jan. 7, 1917 in Naper, Nebraska. They lived on the same farm for 48 years, and then moved to Naper in 1964.

Hattie is survived by four daughters, Edna Broekemeier (Bill), Leona Mayer (Clarence W. ), Darlene Sieh (Earl), Iona Boucher (Alfred); one son, Clarence; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold; one son, Edwin; and her parents, John and Matilda Stahlecker.
