Born Nov. 5, 1925, son of the late William "Bill" and Gertie Abbott, he was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a steelworker for Continental Steel in Kokomo, IN, before retiring.
On Dec. 25, 1972, he married Mary E. Brock who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons, Danny Abbott, Denis Abbott, Jeffery Abbott, and Robert Abbott; one daughter, Syble Qualls; five stepsons, Michael Fieweger, Jeffery Fieweger, Richard Fieweger, Phillip Fieweger and Daniel Helems; one half brother, Johnny Abbott; three half sisters, Lois Romaine, Emma Townsend and Glenda Childers; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn.
Burial followed in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.
