Dr. Sherry Fitzwater, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on December 8, 2008 at Pikes Peak Hospice, from cancer.
Sherry was born in Fairfield, Iowa, on March 12, 1958 to Dale and Barbara Fitzwater. She graduated from Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, on December 9, 1988. She moved to Greeley, Colorado and began her career there in 1989.
After moving to Colorado Springs, she worked in several chiropractor offices prior to establishing Fitzwater Chiropractic, LLC. She devoted her life to helping others with her healing hands.
She is survived by her daughter, Brianna Fitzwater Foran; Brianna's father, Tom Foran; friend, Harry Buxman; sisters, Diana Fitzwater of Warrenville, Illinois and Diana Armbrust of Palm Harbor, Florida; four brothers, Randall Fitzwater (Cheryl), Dennis Fitzwater (Linda) of Colorado Springs, Kevin Fitzwater and Russell Fitzwater of Davenport, Iowa; several nieces; a nephew; and a host of friends.
Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Walters; stepfather, Mike Walters and father, Dale Fitzwater. Sherry will be greatly missed by the many people she personally touched both as a doctor of healing and a steadfast friend.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church For All Nations, 6540 Templeton Gap Road, Colorado Springs, Co 80923.
