He married Jeanne Brown on Jan 23, 1946 in the Logan Temple, in Logan, Utah. To this union six children were born.
Wendell served with the US Army Air Corps during World War II in the China Burma India Theater and flew the "Hump" (Himalayas) 09 times. Mr. Hart was highly decorated and received many medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He belonged to the Hump Pilots Association.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a High Priest group leader. In his younger life he served a mission in the Great Lakes region. He was also a charter member of the Piano Technicians Guild and had been an Eagle Scout.
He loved music and played in a small band. He invented many piano tools for reading pianos and made many quiet and unknown contributions to the arts by tuning the pianos for different artists involved in Community Concerts. He owned the original Hart Music Company located on North Ave. servicing the Western Slope for many years.
Wendell was a people person, enjoyed talking to everyone, he was keenly intelligent and musically gifted. He had a great sense of humor and was a master story teller. He loved spending time with his family and especially, enjoyed his grandchildren. He was always delighted with the stories they would tell him and loved teasing them.
He left his family a legacy of love and a wonderful family history. He was an honorable man, lovingly respected for his good character, loving ways,sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
