Emma was first married to Thomas James KNIFFEN on 15 June 1875. Their children were: Francis Roy, 1876 - 1910; Charles Herbert, 1878 - 1966; Sylvia Alberta, 1880 - 1938, married Lewis Wellingford BRANDOW; Nora Mabel, 1881 - 1905, married David PETTIT, Hiram Wilbur, 1885 - 1934. Emma married second to Peter BOUGHNER on 1 July 1902. He was the father of Charlotte Ethel (BOUGHNER) KNIFFEN, who married Emma's son Charles Herbert.
