She was born December 21, 1869, at Bardolf, Ill. and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lucinda Work.
She was united in marriage to G. E. Adkisson of Bardolf on Oct. 13, 1892, who preceded her in death in July 1938. They resided on a farm west of Hillsboro in 1904, then they moved into Hillsboro the year of 1914. She was a member of the Baptist church at Hillsboro, the WCTV and also was a member of the Missionary Society of the church.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. George Germond, Houston, Texas; a niece, three nephews, also cousins, neighbors and friends.
Last rites were held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 20 at the Hillsboro Baptist Church with Rev. O. T. Wilson, Mt. Pleasant, officiating. Organ prelude was played by Mrs. Vinton Hoaglin, who also was soloist, with Mrs. Glenn Newbold playing piano. The ball bears were Burch Boley, Phil Hixson, Eldredge Hoaglin, Mark Hoaglin, Stanley Howard and Bill Whitaker. Interment was in Hillsboro Cemetery. Services were in charge of the Waterman Funeral Home at Salem.
