William was born on April 9, 1938, in Bonnieville, Kentucky, to the late Joseph and Evalena (Williamson) Hawkins.
He is survived by his sons, William (Bill) J. Hawkins and his wife Kathy of Brownstown, and Allen E. Hawkins and his wife Terri of Seymour. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Adam, Dustin, Kelly, Kayla, Tanner; a brother, four sisters, and several nieces and nephews
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patsy Sue (Eads) Hawkins; and his brother, Floyd Hawkins.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. William was a pipe fitter for Union Hall Local #136.
Friends may call at Day Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and Monday from 12-1 p.m. Funeral Services will also be held at the Funeral Home on Monday at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Donald Gardner officiating. Burial will take place at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
