IVON NEWTON HORN, 97, of Memphis, formerly of Long Beach, Calif., former teacher and retired accountant for Illinois Central Railroad after 28 years, died of heart failure Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. He had taught in Greenfield, Va., and at Snowden and Memphis Technical High School, and he was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. He leaves a sister, Thelma Conyers, and a brother, Jim Horn, both of Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
