Margaret Corrigan Russell was the daughter of Patrick Corrigan, Sr. and Rose Folun and the wife of Reuben W. Russell. Margaret, along with her brother James, emigrated from Ireland to America in 1844. Her father, Patrick, Sr., and brother, Patrick, Jr., followed them to America two years later. The two siblings, Margaret and James, married two siblings, Reuben and Leath, from the John Russell family. According to the 1880 census Margaret was unable to read or write.
