Funeral services for Watly Washington Alford, age 89, were held Tuesday, April 7 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Cannon officiating. Burial was in Houston Cemetery. Mr. Alford died Monday, April 6, at the Golden Triangle Regional Hospital in Columbus.

Born in Chickasaw County to the late Oscar Bud Alford and Fannie Griffin Alford, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Curtis Alford of Houston and J W Alford of Portersville, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Wimberly of West Point, Mrs. Olline Lawson of Columbus, Mrs. Virginia Bray of Maryville, Tennessee and Mrs. Geraldine Allen of Houston; five brothers, M H Alford, John Alford, B J Alford, Roy Alford and Ben Alford, all of Thorn community; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Anderson of Marks and Mrs. Mary Naron of Tupelo.

Pallbearers were Travis Alford, Flavius Alford, Merial Alford, William Alford, Burnie Gene Alford and Carraline Young.

Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
