Susie was born on April 20, 1930 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Redbird and Nancy (Catron) Johnson. Her school years consisted of Sequoyah Indian boarding school outside Tahlequah. In 1950, Susie married Carrol Young of Cape Girardeau, Mo. They had one daughter, Sandra Kaye Young (Perry-Kipple). She later married John Taylor Wright, and they resided in Muskogee. She was preceded in death by her parents Redbird and Nancy Johnson, husband John T. Wright, sister Peggy Wimmer, and two brothers, Henry "Babe" Johnson of Muskogee and George Johnson of Downey, Ca. She was a hard worker and a very giving person to her family, friends, and strangers. She attended and contributed to Hillcrest Christian Fellowship in Muskogee for over 25 years. Due to her illness, Susie moved from Muskogee and lived her last four years in Cedar Park, Texas with her daughter and son-in-law. Susie was proud of her Cherokee Indian heritage as a direct descendant of an original enrollee. She passed away with grace and serenity on December 28, 2008. Left to cherish and honor her memory are her daughter and son-in-law Sandy and Sam Kipple of Cedar Park, Texas, grandson Mitchell Perry of Austin, Texas, great-grandchildren Keyan "Max", Mikayla, and Alexandreao of Austin, Texas and Moriah Johnson Perry of Japan. Susie spent her last few months getting to know her great-grandson Max, where she found great enjoyment and laughter. Only one-and-a-half years old, Max would sit in bed with his great-grandma and they would "talk". When Susie walked to the breakfast table using her walker, Max would be there first and push her chair back for her to sit. Before entering her room, Max would put his little cars down and knock on her door and then pick his cars up and go on in. Susie would just laugh and tell him she's been looking for him. He was always giving her "sugies". She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Susie's first cousin Reverand Gary Cary officiated. Shipman Funeral & Cremation Service in Wagoner directed the arrangements. They were very thoughtful and went above and beyond.
