JOSEPH ACETO
Age 70, of Naples, FL, and Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. Joe was born in Wilmington, DE and started his career as a union bricklayer, later in life he became a general contractor. His first project was the construction of an apartment building on New Castle Avenue, Oteca Arms. Soon after that Joe started renovating homes in Old New Castle. His next project was in Wilmington and was responsible for what is now known as Trinity Vicinity. He then moved to Rehoboth where he purchased and developed the landmark shopping center Peddlers Village. He is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters -in-law, Chip and Jackie Latina, Dennis and Natasha Latina, and Robert and Sonya Latina. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Latina Aceto and his brother, Dante Aceto. Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Monday, January 12, at 10 am, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and Dupont Street, Wilmington, DE. Calling hours are Sunday afternoon from 4-6 pm, at the Corleto-Latina funeral home, 808 North Union Street, Wilmington, DE. Entombment will follow Mass in Cathedral Cemetery.
