William "Bill" Armagost age 86 of Fairbury and formerly of David City, passed away Monday April 18, 2011 at Heritage Care Center in Fairbury.

A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held on Friday April 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Congregational Christian Church in David City with Pastor Jack McDonald officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors by Kregger Legion Post 125/VFW Post 5814 of David City will follow at David City Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Congregational Christian Church.

Bill was born on February 28, 1925 on the family farm near Garrison to Clarence and Adria (Foster) Armagost. Bill was a Navy Veteran, serving in WW II from 1943 until 1946. Bill was united in marriage to LaVina Berglund on May 22, 1949 at David City. He was a Pressman at the Banner-Press for over 50 years. Bill was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of David City and Peace United Methodist Church of Plymouth. He also was a member of the Kregger American Legion Post 125/VFW Post 5814. Masonic Lodge #51 AF & AM, Past Associate Guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel #51 as well as a member of the David City School Board of Education for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing, and had a great love of animals.

Bill was a life long Butler County resident until he and LaVina moved to Plymouth, NE in 2008.

Bill is survived by his wife LaVina of Fairbury; daughters Sue (Galen) Epp of Plymouth, NE; and Jan (Steve) Stultz of Harrisonville, MO; grandchildren and spouses: Mike Armagost and Chris Burr, Bill(Sheila) Armagost, Jim (Brittany) Armagost, Jennifer (Luke) Starkey, Chris and Anna Stultz, Garrett and Taylor Epp; as well as 2 great-grandchildren Dominic and Alex.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son David in 2002.
