Mrs. Rebecca A. Stone Dies at Home of Daughter, Mrs. Hyde, Near Winthrop, Iowa.

Mrs. Rebecca A. Stone, until last May a resident of West Manchester, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Hyde, northwest of Winthrop, on Friday, February 14th, 1936, after an illness of several years.

Funeral services were held at the Swan & Leytze undertaking parlor at Independence on Monday afternoon. The Rev. Floyd H. Wood, pastor of the Methodist church, having charge of the same. The remains were placed in the receiving vault in Oakland cemetery, and will be later laid to rest in the family lot here.

Rebecca Hansel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hansel, was born in Green county, Pa., Feb 25th, 1848. When a mere infant her father's family came west and located on a farm in Fayette county, in 1872. Mr. Stone died in Manchester ten years ago.

Surviving Mrs. Stone are five daughters, Mrs. James Hyde, Mrs. Lewis Streeter of Aurora, Mrs. Orris Miller of Manchester, Mrs. Lewis Higgins of Independence, Mrs. John Snyder of Independence; Jas. Stone of Wadena, Minn. Charles Stone of Edgewood, and Fred Stone of Manchester. She is also survived by two brothers, James and Jacob Hansel of Osterdock.

The members of Mrs. Stone's family have the profound sympathy of many friends in the sorrow that has come to them at this time.
