MRS. LU DELL DART
At 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, July 21, funeral services for Mrs. Lu Dell Dart were held at Farris Memorial Chapel, conducted by Rev. James Conger of the First Baptist Church. Mr and Mrs. Don McAfee accompanied at the Organ by Mrs. 0. D. Meisenheimer, sang "ln the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Casket bearers were, Ed Hinkle, Bill Tush, Bob Fisher, Raymond Lewis, Ray Frew, and Charles Wells. Burial was it the Garnett cemetery.
Mrs. Lu Dell Swisher Dart was born to John and Harriet Swisher, April 16, 1877, in Martinville, Ind. She passed away at Boyd's Nursing Home in Garnett, July 17, 1967.
When she was two years old the family moved to the Kincaid-Blue Mound area. She was married to E. S. Dart, in Kincaid, Sept. 25, 1893, and the couple moved to Garnett in 1916.
Her husband and one daughter, Florence Coen, preceded her in death.
Surviving her are nine daughters and one son: Mrs. Rose Bums, Garnett; A. J. Dart. San, Diego, Cal.; Mrs. Mae Lilly, Ottawa; Mrs. Lois Hunt, Garnett; Mrs. Yvonne Koontz, Kansas City, Kan.; Mrs. Zona Smith, Lawrence; Mrs. Mary Maxey, Kansas City, Kan.; Mrs. Vivian Haynes, Garnett; Mrs. Blanche Brady, Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Bernadine Tinsley, Garnett; also one sister, Mrs. Alma Merrill of California; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
