Henry Beckner, my fourth great-grandfather, died of measles while trying to walk home after being mustered out of his Civil War regiment. His Missouri regiment was never officially mustered in and therefore his family received no pension and were quite poor.

Henry Beckner was married twice. His first marriage had two children,
Angeline Beckner b. January 9, 1850 d. March 27, 1915.
William Beckner b. July 28, 1851

Henry Beckner married second to Mary Bradford on February 1, 1854 in Dekalb County, Missouri. They had three children, Margaret Ann, Elizabeth and John Henry Beckner. Only Margaret, would survive childhood. Henry is said to be be buried in Dekalb County, Missouri.
