Mrs. Swartz, 88, formerly of New Enterprise RD, died at 11:07 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 1992, at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, following a brief illness. She was born July 22, 1904, in Maria, Bedford County, the daughter of John and Sarah (Richter) Ulery. She married Chester E. Swartz on May 15, 1924, in Cumberland, Md. He died Dec. 3,1947. Surviving are eight children; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Swartz was a member of Waterside Church of the Brethren, New Enterprise RD. She was preceded in death by two sons: John and Donald.
