Nora Ferrell, 92 of Coal Mountain, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join her many loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Tuesday, April 9th, 2013, peacefully from her residence.

Born November 30, 1920, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Henry Mays (Deceased) & Martha Porter-Mays (Deceased).

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Ferrell (1912-1971) whom she married on October 26, 1942 in Davin, Logan County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Logan County, WV, 1942, Page 155, Application Date: October 13, 1942); her second husband, Robert Omar Brooks (1909-1975); two brothers: Marvin Mays (Deceased) and Norris Mays (Deceased) and one step-great-grandson, Chad Gales (Deceased).

Nora was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a retired cook for the Wyoming County Board of Education and a lifelong active member of the Coal Mountain Freewill Baptist Church. She loved going for walks and loved to clean, especially the church where she was usually the last one to leave. She loved spending time with her wonderful family, her beloved church family and her friends. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Nora and to mourn her passing include her two daughters: Sandy Ferrell-Addison of Coal Mountain and Lanni Ferrell-Rose and her husband Dennie Rose (a special son-in-law who always made sure she was taken care of), also of Coal Mountain; her four granddaughters: Connie Addison of Smyrna TN, Bridgett (Robin) Stacy of Hanover, Tammy (Andy) Bowling of Thurmont MD, and Andrea Rose of Beckley; her three grandsons: Danny (Millette) Addison of Wytheville VA, Bryan (Tabatha) Addison of Hickory NC and Deno (Yvette) Rose of Potomac MD; her great-grandchildren: Michael Hoosier, Amie (Daniel) Kondan, Micah and Makaeleigh Stacy, Andrew and Matthew Addison, Amy Gales, Ashley and Sierra Addison, Mason and Haleigh Bowling, and Brennan and Zachary Rose; her great-great grandchildren: Nicholas and Lauren Nora Kondan, Sierra Payne, and Paige Clark; and a host of other dear family, her beloved church family, and her friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 13th at the Coal Mountain Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Browning and Rev. James Ellis officiating.
