Dorothy Olive Peterson went home to be with her Lord on January 2, 2009. She was the eldest of four children and was born in a sod house on September 14, 1909, to Roy and Leona Ewers English in Hoxie, KS.

She married Kyrle Francis Seals (deceased) in 1927 and of that union, five children were born. In 1953, Dorothy came to Colorado Springs to attend the Key Beauty School; following graduation she returned to Lamar and opened Dodo's Beauty Bar.

She and her second husband Guy Peterson (deceased) moved to Ft. Collins so that Guy could attend CSU; there Dorothy took instruction in china painting and became proficient. She held many jobs during her lifetime, including assisting the instructors and students at CSU Veterinary School.

Guy and Dorothy relocated to Colorado Springs in 1986 Where she lived until her death. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Lucille Hutchison (Lenn, deceased) of Colorado Springs, sons Kyrle Wayne (Mitzie) of Eckert, CO, and Kenneth O. Seals (Cheryl) of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter Leona Ann Mitchell (Kenneth) of Paonia, Colorado, daughter-in-law Nancy Seals of Federal Heights, Colorado, sister Audree Hutchinson (Wayne) of Colorado Springs, two half brothers, Roy English (Blanche) of Utah and Delano English (Cheryl) of Evergreen, ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was precdeded in death by her parents, two husbands, son Ralfe Francis Seals, sister Eunice Myers, brother Merle English, and six grandchildren.

Dorothy, whose name means "gift from God", opened her heart to everyone she met and accepted each one as Jesus himself would have, never passing judgment. Though she will be deeply missed by those of us remainig, there is certainly rejoicing in Heaven.

A visitaton will be on January 6, 2009 for 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and the sevice will be on January 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Both will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO.
