WOODVILLE – March 10 (Sp) – C H Durham, Jr, 20, died in an Angelina County hospital at 3 a.m. Saturday, following an accident on the Beaumont highway at 10:30 a.m. Thursday south of Lufkin, when his motorcycle and a butane gas truck collided.
He was born and reared in Woodville, where he attended Kirby High School. He belonged to the Future Farmers of America and worked as a carpenter.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C H Durham, Sr, of Woodville; sisters, Mrs. Tom D. Barnes of Silsbee and Miss Rosemary Durham of Woodville; brothers, Varney, Y. G., Elijah, and Theron Durham of Woodville; grandparents, Mrs. Ada Durham of Woodville, and Mrs. Mattie Daffern of Liberty.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethany Family Cemetery four miles west of Colmesneil by the Rev. Jack Best of Doucette with burial directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Woodville. The body will lie in state at the funeral chapel until time for services.
