Mrs. Ellen Margaret Wilhelm, 59, 3616 Avenue L, died unexpectedly at 2:30 p.m. Monday while visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. Grace Dovin, Fort Madison.

Mrs. Wilhelm was a lifelong resident of Fort Madison, born Oct. 5, 1915. Her parents were Simeon and Eva Swinderman Griswold.

She was married to Vernette C. Wilhelm on May 11, 1935 at Kahoka, Mo. She was a member of the Santa Fe United Methodist Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Don (Diana) Mueller, Fort Madison; two brothers, Morris and Frank Griswold, both of Fort Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Dovin, Fort Madison , Mrs. Ester Pardue, Pleasanton, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and a brother.

The body is at the Barr Memorial Chapel where final rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Jerry Richards will officiate. Burial will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park.

The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 Wednesday evening at Barr Chapel.

A memorial is being established with the Santa Fe United Methodist Church.
