Abner S. Zachry Jr.
Abner Shelton Zachry Jr., 45, a retired certified public accountant, died Tuesday in a Dallas hospital after a long illness.
Born in Pittsburg, Camp County, Zachry attended the University of Texas in Austin. He operated his own accounting firm in Carlsbad, N.M., for many years until illness forced his retirement about three years ago when he moved to Denton.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, Abner S. Zachry III and Herring Zachry, all of Denton; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.S. Zachry of Dallas; two sisters, Dr. Ann Zachry of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. H.H. Stephenson of New York, N.Y., and a brother, David R. Zachry of Burbank, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church in Denton. Burial will be in Denton.
